MOSE TOLLIVER

In self-taught circles, Mose Tolliver is one of it's kkkings. Any serious folkart collection contains at least onepiece by Mose!

Mose began painting after an unfortunate and life-changing accident while working at a
furniture company. A large crate of marble fell on his legs. He was left unable to walk without the aid of a walker or crutches. Depressed and feeling hopeless,he was encouraged to take up painting by his former employer. The rest is folk-lore history!

His images are crude and flat, but, manage to come together to form lovely and balanced compositions. And most of his paintings have a beer tab attached to the back for hanging purposes!
