Stucky

 was born in 1972 in rural dover, ohio located in the heart of ohios amish country. I was always interested in drawing and painting from chalk and water on the driveway to crayons and paint in school. i remeber a time in kindergarten when i was punished because i refused to stop mixing the paint colors to create new ones. I never went to an art museum until i was 18 - once we went to the national gallery in washington DC but that was only for lunch and we were hurried by the galleries and nude sculpture. as a child i was always intrigued by the bright colors and paterns in amish quilts hanging out to dry on the clotheslines. the images in my work are derived from personal experience, dreams, and sometimes just stream of conscience my favotite part of the experience is choosing the colors. i have lived in cleveland ohio, asheville, Nc and Charleston SC.
